Wellways Mental Health Month Roadshow

Building on the success of their Suicide Prevention Day activities across the Snowy Valleys communities throughout Mental Health month in October, Wellways is taking the next step — hitting the road and bringing their message of connection, hope and support directly to regional communities.

The team will be travelling throughout the region, visiting towns including Barham, Hay, Hillston, Narrandera, Gundagai, Adelong, Coolamon, Ariah Park and Ardlethan, as well as surrounding communities.

From main streets and local businesses to Men’s Sheds, GP surgeries and community hubs, they will be out and about meeting locals, building connections and having important conversations about mental health and wellbeing. Look out for the Wellways team coming soon to a community near you!

The Murrumbidgee MHDA Alliance acknowledges and pays respects to the traditional owners of the lands on which our member organisations operate; the Wiradjuri, Nari Nari, Wemba Wemba, Perepa Perepa, Yorta Yorta, Ngunnawal, Ngarigo, Bangerang and Yitha Yitha Nations.

Recognition of Lived Experience

We recognise the profound contributions of individuals with lived and living experiences of mental health challenges, substance use, and suicide, as well as those who care for and support them. Each person’s journey is unique and adds invaluable insight into how we can collectively improve and reform mental health and suicide prevention systems.

We also remember those we have lost too soon, and recognise the lasting impact their absence leaves on their families, carers, and communities. Their stories, strength, and resilience guide us to confront stigma and ensure our efforts are informed by compassion, respect, and lived experience.
