The Murrumbidgee MHDA Alliance works for the Murrumbidgee community to improve the mental health and drug and alcohol service system in our region.
We are always open to hearing ideas and feedback from people living in the Murrumbidgee region. If you have something you would like to share with us, please let us know below or get in touch with us.
You can also stay updated with our work by registering with us to receive news.
Share your ideas
Would you like to make a suggestion to the Alliance?
You may want to tell us what you think our region needs for people with mental health, drug or alcohol challenges. Maybe you have a great idea about where we should focus our efforts.
We’d love to hear from you!
Messages received from the community will be shared at meetings of the Alliance.

Lived Experience and Carer representatives
People with lived, living and carer experience of mental health, drug or alcohol challenges are an important part of the Alliance member group.
If you would like to express your interest in becoming a representative on the Alliance, please read more below and then tell us a bit about you and your interest in the Expression of Interest form.
Lived Experience and Carer Representatives help make sure that the work of the Alliance is informed by the experiences of people using mental health, suicide prevention or drug and alcohol services in the Murrumbidgee region.
Lived Experience and Carer representatives attend meetings of the Alliance as equal members and provide input from their own perspective and experience.
As well as attending Alliance meetings, representatives can also choose to join any of the working groups if there is an area they are interested in.
Alliance meetings take place every month for two hours. Meetings are usually held online and are during business hours.
Once every three months the Alliance meets in person in Wagga Wagga. Representatives who cannot attend in person have the option to join the meetings online.
Working groups happen outside of the main Alliance meeting schedule and time for these is arranged with members of the group.
Lived Experience and Carer representatives are paid for their time spent attending Alliance meetings and any working groups they are part of.
An orientation is provided, and the Alliance Chair is available to help with any questions during their participation.
Other support requirements can be discussed. Please let us know in your application if there is anything else you may need to assist your involvement.
Organisational Membership
We invite interest from new organisations who may like to be part of the Murrumbidgee MHDA Alliance.
Member organisations must be involved in the delivery of services for people living in the Murrumbidgee region who have challenges with mental health, suicide, drug or alcohol use.
Each member organisation has two nominated representatives to attend meetings. Organisational representatives are expected to:
- Make decisions on behalf of their organisation
- Actively participate in the work of the Alliance. This includes participation in monthly meetings and engagement in working groups.
- Regularly communicate back to their organisations.
- Implement the tools and project outcomes into their organisation’s core business to ensure service integration and cooperation.
- Take turns presenting to the meeting on the services their organisation provides.
Organisations accepted to join the Alliance will enter into a Memorandum of Understanding. A template of this can be provided on request.
